Mike Dunnion, one of the founding directors of www.insure.ie, has sold his shareholding in Newsure Limited (t/a www.insure.ie) and has resigned from the board of directors of Newsure in order to concentrate on MDC and his other business interests.
Mike set-up www.insure.ie in 1998 as a concept website offering comparative motor insurance quotations. This allowed the software (InsureIT from MDC) to be stress tested in public by allowing ‘test drive quotations’ before the site opened for new business in late 2000. It was Ireland’s first comparative insurance quotation site.
During the period 2001 to 2004 Mike helped grow www.insure.ie to become Ireland’s most successful on-line insurance broker offering both motor and household insurance via the Web allowing real time payment and document printing.
MDC continues to supply it’s BrokerIT service to insurance brokers enabling them to have their own interactive web presence at an affordable cost, see www.brokerit.ie.
